Longview Poverty Conference set Tuesday at Belcher Center

The 2017 Junior League of Longview Poverty Conference is set for Aug. 22 at the Belcher Center.

Liz Murray will be the keynote speaker this year, sharing her story of how she went from being homeless to being a Harvard University graduate.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. Aug. 22. The keynote address is at 8 a.m. A community panel and discussion is planned from 10 to 10:50 a.m., then a session on education and poverty is set from 11 a.m. to noon.
